February 11-13, 2015
Washington, DC
Update 1/29: Our hotel block has filled but rooms are still available at standard rates.
Update 1/26: If you’re looking to share housing or transportation with another attendee visit our Travel/Housing Buddy Request spreadsheet.
Update 1/9: Official registration form added below and agenda released for download.
Join the leadership team of Women Grow as the nationwide leaders in the cannabis industry descend on Washington DC for our first annual lobby days. Our partners at the National Cannabis Industry Association will schedule meetings on the hill with members of congress in a structured environment and provide important talking points. This is an incredible opportunity with no lobbying experience required!
Lobbying is a high-impact method to have your perspective on legalization and regulations affect public policy. There is no cost for this program but you’ll need to cover your own travel and meals. We’re staying at the Hotel Helix (our room block is full but rooms are still available), where our meetings and gatherings will happen.
- February 11: Book your travel to arrive by 5PM for a 7:30PM dinner & briefing at the Helix Hotel. We recommend flying into DCA or taking Amtrak.
- February 12: We’ll kick-off the morning with a press conference at the National Press Club and take meetings in small groups during the day on the hill. The day will end with a fundraiser with Nevada Representative Dina Titus at The George Restaurant with a suggested donation of $100.00.
- February 13: In the morning follow-up meetings may be scheduled, otherwise official events end after lunch. All attendees are invited to attend SSDPs’ Betty Aldworth & Stacia Cosner’s birthday party that evening.
- February 14: Depart at your leisure.
If you’re interested in joining us, fill out the form below to RSVP and book your hotel room through the Helix.
Nice website and intention.
How does this differ from the NCIA’s event in April? They both sound great.
Hi Suzie, This is very similar to the NCIA Lobby Days but focused on women in the cannabis industry. If you can attend both, please do! Otherwise this event is more focused on helping women connect while the NCIA serves a general audience.
Jazmin,
I contacted someone on the site about starting a local chapter in MD. Will I be able to speak to someone about this @ the event?
Yes our National Chapter Developer is also attending. We’re currently on boarding chapters in areas with populations of 150,000 people within one hour travel distance.
I would like to get involved with the Maryland Chapter as well.
Hi Kim,
Enter your details on http://womengrow.com/start-women-grow-chapter/ and we’ll connect you to everyone who has expressed interest in Maryland when we get ready to onboard that chapter.
So excited to attend this Event with the Women of Blue Crab Botanicals. An all women
Cultivator group from Marylands Eastern Shore. We are the only group of women in Maryand competing for a MMJ Grow Liscense
Robin,
I look forward to meeting @ one of the evening events. Jamila
