Women Grow, an organization that aims to serve as a “catalyst for women to influence and succeed in the cannabis industry,” opens its Kootenay chapter in January, in Nelson. The group has 31 chapters following the legalization of cannabis in Colorado in 2014, with Canadian groups in Vancouver and Toronto.

Women Grow is a networking group that helps newcomers navigate those legal pitfalls, bringing together women who work above board and those who are operating in the grey market at monthly events. It started in the US but now has chapters in Toronto, Vancouver, and Victoria.

20 months, 22 days, and several hours after the launch of Women Grow we have a lot of hope. Hope for a new industry choosing to do things the right way instead of the easy way. Hope for our community of 50,000 women & men finding the perfect way for their talents to create greater wellness for us all. And Hope for ending plant medicine prohibition in several more states this fall.
