Earl Patton

Earl is a managing partner at Rumble Venture Capital a holding company where he manages a portfolio of tech companies powered by data science, which include Fanbase Analytics, Sprout, Node Capital and Africa Tech Fund. Earl identifies high-growth business investment opportunities in enterprise technology, fintech, analytics, MedTech, energy, startups and emerging markets. A strategic and marketing visionary, Earl leverages his ability to connect the dots from disparate data signals to create new value for brands and organizations. As a partner with Sprout, the mission is to bring awareness and education to the opportunities in the legal marijuana markets surrounding science, technology, and innovation. Prior to launching Rumble, Earl’s served as an executive in the sports and entertainment industry which included senior management positions with the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA where he managed marketing and partnership sponsorship programs and the Cleveland Cavaliers as a Director of Basketball Operations where he oversaw scouting, contract negotiation, and roster management. Earl also served as a Director of Marketing for Sony FIFA Partnership Project Office (FPO) where he joined the office to oversee various aspects as it relates to Sony partnership with Federation International Football Association (FIFA) and sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Earl worked for the National Basketball Association Johannesburg office as Director of Business Development. Earl served as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University where he taught Sports Analytics and has been featured as a global sports business consultant at the FINEP Brazilian Government Forum in Rio de Janeiro Brazil as part of the transition of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
