2015 Leadership Summit

May 15-17, 2015: The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera, Edwards, Colorado.

Jazmin&Jane600x600

Our founding members asked for an exclusive weekend to learn, connect, and rejuvenate.

PEER TO PEER LEARNING:

Every entrepreneur struggles to keep pace with an industry on the forefront of national legalization and eventually international legalization. There is no textbook for this journey but we’ve brought together your industry peers to learn from each other.

UNBELIEVABLY INTIMATE:

With only 80 women in attendance you will become acquainted with every single participant. No crowded networking events, just structured activities to foster long-lasting connections. The cannabis industry will never be this small again. Trusted partnerships created now will lead to vital connections for brands to contend for eventual national placement.

LISTEN AND BE HEARD:

Short lectures followed by break-out sessions with individual speakers guarantee an intimate workshop environment. We’ll go beyond theory and work through your specific issues in a confidential space. You’ll leave with a better understanding of your business and yourself as an entrepreneur.

Hosted discussion groups allow peers to gather and give advice to each other. Practice your public speaking and moderating skills by hosting a topic of your choice for 4-30 women to discuss.

Our vision is that these events will bond together women in all sectors of cannabis to support each other for years to come.

Thank you,
Jazmin Hupp and Jane West
Co-Founders, Women Grow

Our Professional Focus: Cannabis Company Valuation & Raising Capital

Our 2015 Summit will address the challenges we face given the industry’s short history, high volatility, and complex regulatory structure. Avoid the most costly mistake in an entrepreneur’s life by properly valuing your work and understanding how to raise capital.

Featured Speakers:

Jessica Geran

Director of Corporate Finance, Dutchess Capital

Dutchess Capital has been funding companies for 15 years. Based in Boston, MA, Dutchess made their first investment in the space in the summer of 2013. To date, they’ve invested in 12 cannabis-related opportunities and continue to look to grow their portfolio. Jessica has been with Dutchess Capital for over 5 years. She sources and vets new deal flow within the cannabis industry by speaking to entrepreneurs, reviewing business plans and financials and presenting to the Dutchess Investment Committee. In addition, once funding is provided, Jessica works with portfolio companies to help scale their business by leveraging Dutchess’s network of connections and overall business expertise.

Nicole Casanova

CEO and Connection Catalyst, Casanova Ventures

Nicole Casanova’s 1995 Masters was on Targeted Marketing on the Web and she was an early founder in three San Francisco startups, Homestore (Move.com), Lycos and Mypoints. All went public. All are still in business. From employee number three to a team of 2000+, overselling a $350k quota by $6.5 mil and negotiating one licensing deal that surpassed a decade’s worth of total revenue, she’s seen rapid growth first hand.

Intrigued with behavior change, she created Shift, a game that shows people why they do what they do. It was sold in hundreds of stores, used in psychology practices, offered in workshops and as an online game with multi-player video chat. And, after working with clients from HP and Coca-Cola to Stephen Covey, she knows the best ways to change behaviors and make them stick – critical for developing the rock star entrepreneurial mindset.

In the cannabis space, Nicole, was the third license holder in Boulder and built Boulder Vital Herbs with a 12,000 square feet grow. She is a startup junkie that loves working with Digital, Tech, Media, LOHAS, socially conscious and women-led companies to uncover and execute on the lever points that will catapult them to success. Whether it’s strategic monetization, messaging or partnerships, Nicole gives them the tools to create massive traction and drive serious revenue. An all out advocate for serving rather than selling, she believes that when we cultivate great relationships we develop the best businesses.
